About The Position

The Tool Room Technician is responsible for preparing and documenting tooling for all production change-overs based on production schedule requirements. This role ensures that all required tooling is clean, functional, and accurate, and maintains inventory accuracy in the Tool Crib. The technician will also organize and stage tooling carts and perform necessary mechanical or machinist work to ensure tooling operates effectively. Additionally, they will conduct routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on tooling components and communicate tooling needs to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and document tooling for all production change-overs based on the production schedule requirements.
  • Prepare and verify all the required tooling for the change-over is clean, functional and accurate.
  • Ensure tooling inventory accuracy in Tool Crib work area.
  • Organize and stage all incoming and outgoing tooling carts in the Tool Crib and at each satellite staging zone on the production floor.
  • Perform mechanical or machinist work that is required to ensure that the tooling in the machines will run with the capability of producing a satisfactory product.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of tooling components including die heads and conduction sealer units.
  • Effective communication to team regarding tooling requirements and needs.
