About The Position

The Tool Room Attendant is responsible for receiving, inspecting, issuing and storing supplies, tools and equipment in a controlled atmosphere. This role involves delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining a safe environment, and managing the inventory of tools and supplies for various departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years’ of experience in parts production or maintenance field or in a related area.
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment; ability to repair; maintain, adjust and service tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a tooling environment.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers, manufacturing and maintenance processes.
  • Must have basic math skills and can read and write legibly.
  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook; previous SAP experience is desired.
  • Must have good communication skills to interact with all levels of employees and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of industrial and hand tools.
  • Must be able to keep records and transactions in an orderly manner and up to date.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Previous SAP experience is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to a small team and maintain a safe environment.
  • Receive, inspect and confirm the quality and quantity of ordered supplies, material and equipment.
  • Identifies equipment needing repair or replacement; makes minor adjustments and repairs to tools and equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Make sure all tools are up to date on calibrations and certificates by tracking these on new bar code system, maintaining current certificates and getting copies of the certifications to QC when received in tool room.
  • Send out all tools that need repair that we cannot do in house, tracking tools in and out on spreadsheets, documenting serial numbers, cost of repairs and conducting cost analysis to determine whether to fix or replace the tool.
  • Receiving all goods for Tool Room, Maintenance, Paint and Piping Departments.
  • Look up and print out PO receivers for goods coming in SAP.
  • Receive all goods in SAP and make sure all paperwork is correct and documented.
  • Entering tools and employees in computer for bar code system, making and maintaining bar codes for all tools in the Tool Room.
  • Working with QC to ensure all calibrated tools are current and have been certified.
  • Keeping track of all tools that are permanently checked out to employees.
  • All other duties as assigned.
