Tool Room Machinist
About The Position
Medicoil is seeking an experienced Tool Room Machinist to work on 1st shift at its Lake Geneva, Wisconsin facility. The role designs, builds, repairs, and modifies tooling—including jigs, fixtures, and dies—to support manufacturing operations. The machinist also supports production and assembly improvements, equipment repairs, and R&D part fabrication while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. Requirements
- Proven experience as a machinist or tool room machinist.
- Experience with manual and CNC machining, including mills, lathes, and grinders.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with tooling, fixtures, jigs, and gauges.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Ability to stand and work with tools and machinery for extended periods.
Nice To Haves
- CAD/CAM or EDM experience.
- Vocational training or apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
- Build, repair, and modify tools, jigs, fixtures, and dies.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Set up and operate machine shop equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM.
- Inspect finished work using precision measuring tools.
- Support production and assembly departments with tooling improvements.
- Assist with equipment repairs and R&D part fabrication.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety procedures.
