About The Position

The Crib Attendant is responsible for the organization, security, and distribution of company tools, equipment, and supplies. This role serves as a central hub for the production team, ensuring that technicians and operators have the correct materials to perform their jobs. The attendant monitors inventory levels, tracks high-value assets, and maintains a clean, orderly storage environment to minimize downtime and prevent loss.

Requirements

HS Diploma
Ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces (warehouse/factory floors) for the duration of an 8- to 12-hour shift.
Regularly lifting, pushing, and pulling boxes or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Frequent reaching, bending, and climbing ladders or stools to access high shelving.
High attention to detail for reading small part numbers, barcodes, and digital screens.
Ability to operate basic material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks or carts (and occasionally a forklift, if certified).

Responsibilities

Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools and supplies.
Perform regular cycle counts and physical audits to ensure database accuracy.
Check out tools and equipment to employees and ensure they are returned in good condition.
Track "lost" or "overdue" items.
Monitor stock levels and initiate purchase requisitions for consumable items (e.g., drill bits, safety glasses, gloves) before they run out.
Visually inspect returned tools for wear or damage.
Coordinate with maintenance for repairs or tag equipment for "Lockout/Tagout" if unsafe.
Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or ERP software to log all transactions and update inventory records.
Coordinate with delivery drivers and outside vendors for tool sharpening or equipment calibration services.
