About The Position

This role is responsible for the inventory control and management of the tool room, ensuring all tools and parts are accounted for and readily available. The position requires effective communication, computer proficiency, and the ability to maintain positive employee and customer relations.

Requirements

  • Ability to observe details at close range.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
  • Ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules.
  • Working knowledge of tool and parts usage.
  • Capable of performing computer work in Excel, Word, and other software as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • 0-2 years in inventory control desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Work and direct personnel in a team-oriented and safety-conscious environment.
  • Adhere to "Safety First" expectations, including PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company/site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage scheduling, record keeping, and inventory control for all aspects of the tool room.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor and customer to accomplish assigned tasks and develop sound customer relations.
  • Maintain adherence to published work schedule and be available to work overtime as required.
  • Keep track of information to keep business and supply chains on schedule.
  • Perform computer work in Excel, Word, and other software as needed.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work issues, personnel issues, and employee complaints.
  • Perform other work as defined by company and/or customer.
  • Ensure compliance with all company/customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals, including employee development planning.
  • Communicate with all team members to assist in the development of short- and long-range planning in support of the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Complete accurate and timely administrative duties, including time accounting and work order completion.
  • Maintain positive customer and employee relations.
