About The Position

VALCO is a leader in commercial poultry, egg, and swine production equipment, specializing in world-famous poultry watering and feeding systems. They are currently looking for a Full-Time Tool Room Apprentice in the Coldwater, Ohio facility. The scheduled workdays are Monday through Friday, 1st Shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Requirements

Must have 2 years machining experience or approved schooling.
Good understanding of tool steel properties and heat treating characteristics.
Sufficient in blueprint and CAD drawings.
Provide own machinist tools and be proficient in using them.
Must pass company machinist math test.
Possess a quality and safety conscious attitude and ability to follow step by step instructions from supervisor.

Responsibilities

Properly set-up and operate tool room machinery including CNC machines without assistance or unnecessary supervision.
Produce and assemble quality work pieces from drawings or blueprints to tolerances up to +-.0005" without assistance or unnecessary supervision and in a timely manner.
Assemble dies, jigs and fixtures as per print with minimal supervision.
Maintain clean orderly work area and follow all safety rules.
Safely position, secure or move work pieces as needed.
Perform routine maintenance on tool room machines.
