About The Position

Rhoads Industries is seeking a Tool Room and Wire Attendant (2nd Shift) to join their dynamic, fast-paced, and growing team. The Tool Room and Wire Attendant is responsible for managing the inventory, distribution, and maintenance of tools and consumables in the tool room. This role ensures tools and materials are available for shop personnel, maintained in good condition, and tracked accurately. The attendant works closely with various teams to meet operational needs and adhere to procedures for handling and issuing tools and consumables. This position is required to work 2nd shift (Monday - Thursday, 4pm - 2:30am EST.).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous warehousing, Naval Supply systems experience
  • Hazmat training
  • Experience performing truck/forklift duties
  • Industrial welding tool/consumable knowledge
  • Previous experience in inventory management, tool room operations, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of various tools and equipment used in the industry.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Basic mechanical skills for tool maintenance and repairs.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed.
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • Must be able to work in a team
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Requires a strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle a high degree of confidential and sensitive information and the ability to work at all levels within the organization
  • Must obtain a forklift certification
  • Must obtain OSHA 10 certification

Responsibilities

  • Receiving consumables and tools, and entering inventory into Dynamics.
  • Creating inventory numbers for items.
  • Following EBFF procedures for issuing wire and consumables and notifying QA/Management of any issues.
  • Working closely with the EBFF team to meet tool/wire and consumable needs.
  • Maintaining an accurate log of wire oven temperatures per customer procedures.
  • Maintaining inventory and performing spot checks.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records of all tools and equipment.
  • Performing regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Ordering new tools and equipment as needed and managing incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Issuing welding wire/consumables, tools, and equipment to employees and recording transactions.
  • Ensuring the return of wire and checking the weight and condition of wire, discarding per procedure.
  • Ensuring tools are returned in good condition and performing necessary inspections.
  • Tracking tool usage and maintaining logs for accountability.
  • Conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
  • Coordinating with maintenance or repair services for major repairs.
  • Ensuring tools are clean, properly stored, and in safe working condition.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and ensuring all tools and equipment meet safety standards.
  • Providing training and guidance to employees on the proper use and care of tools.
  • Reporting any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all tool room activities.
  • Preparing and submitting reports on tool usage, inventory levels, and maintenance activities.
  • Utilizing inventory management software to track and manage tools.
  • Assisting employees with locating and selecting the appropriate tools for their tasks.
  • Providing excellent customer service and responding to inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring work is completed efficiently and per procedure.
  • Pulling reports from the inventory system and distributing them to appropriate departments.
  • Fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
