About The Position

The Tool Repair Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the repair of various tools and equipment sold by the company, ensuring excellent customer service through efficient and timely estimates and repairs. This role involves troubleshooting, performing repairs, communicating with customers and internal departments, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The supervisor will also train and manage repair mechanics, review payroll, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and training initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2 to 6 years of related repair experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required to perform tasks.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical power generation and control systems, gas and diesel engines, and mechanical power transfer is required.
  • Knowledge of product applications enhanced through continual training.
  • Ability to work productively without supervision.
  • Ability to exert 75 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations: multiplication, division, percentages.
  • Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents.
  • Analytical ability including basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with construction industry, products, and methods a plus.
  • Communicate with customers and co-workers in courteous and professional manner is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent customer service through efficient and timely estimates and repairs of products.
  • Prepare repair estimates for customers and service personnel, estimating work hours and parts needed.
  • Repair various tools and equipment, including power tools, cordless tools, hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, gas engine equipment, and other construction equipment, by troubleshooting and using schematics.
  • Assist in communicating with customers over the service counter, email, and phone, and occasionally follow-up with customers after repair.
  • Communicate with the rental department and repair internal company assets.
  • Guide other branches in minor repairs over the phone and obtain transfers if necessary.
  • Update and reference service manuals for parts and prices.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly repair shop area through basic cleaning.
  • Test finished products to ensure customer approval.
  • Prepare basic assembly of larger products for customer delivery.
  • Abide by all safety policies in repair procedures.
  • Attend various trainings and certifications to remain informed on technology updates.
  • Perform other duties as necessary by supervisor.
  • Supervise Repair Mechanics, oversee repairs, and organize repair mechanics.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Train and supervise employees of the repair shop.
  • Review payroll hours weekly.
  • Ensure completion of all assigned NEFCO trainings.
  • Monitor and enforce all NEFCO training initiatives for associates under supervision.
  • Assist in the implementation of new training and enhance existing training processes for associates under supervision.
  • Uphold the Leader’s Safety Six protocol: Don’t tolerate unsafe acts, Identify and fix unsafe conditions, Report EVERY incident, Conduct accident investigations, Communicate with HR about incidents and subsequent investigations, and WALK THE TALK.
