About The Position

The Tool Repair Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the repair shop, ensuring efficient and timely repair of various tools and equipment sold by the company. This role involves maintaining excellent customer service, estimating repair costs, troubleshooting issues using schematics, and supervising repair mechanics. The supervisor will also train employees, enforce safety protocols, and manage administrative tasks such as reviewing payroll hours and updating service manuals. A key aspect of this role is upholding the Leader’s Safety Six protocol and ensuring all associates under their supervision are trained and compliant with NEFCO training initiatives.

Requirements

  • 2 to 6 years of related repair experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required to perform tasks.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical power generation and control systems, gas and diesel engines, and mechanical power transfer is required.
  • Ability to work productively without supervision.
  • Ability to exert 75 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations: multiplication, division, percentages.
  • Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents.
  • Analytical ability including basic math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with construction industry, products, and methods a plus.
  • Knowledge of product applications enhanced through continual training.
  • Communicate with customers and co-workers in courteous and professional manner is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain excellent customer service through efficient and timely estimates and repairs of products.
  • Prepare repair estimates for customers and service personnel.
  • Estimate work hours and parts needed for repairs.
  • Repair various tools and equipment including power tools, cordless tools, hydraulic equipment, pneumatic equipment, gas engine equipment, and other construction equipment.
  • Troubleshoot tools and equipment using schematics.
  • Communicate with customers over the service counter, email, and phone.
  • Follow-up with customers after repair to ensure product functionality.
  • Communicate with the rental department and repair internal company assets.
  • Guide other branches in minor repairs over the phone and arrange for transfers if necessary.
  • Update and reference service manuals for parts and prices.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly repair shop area through basic cleaning.
  • Test finished products to ensure customer approval.
  • Prepare basic assembly of larger products for customer delivery.
  • Abide by all safety policies in repair procedures.
  • Attend various trainings and certifications to remain informed on technology updates.
  • Perform other duties as necessary by supervisor.
  • Supervise Repair Mechanics.
  • Oversee repairs and organize repair mechanics.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Train and supervise employees of the repair shop.
  • Review payroll hours weekly.
  • Completion of all assigned NEFCO trainings.
  • Monitor and enforce all NEFCO training initiatives for associates under your supervision.
  • Assist in implementation of new training and enhance existing training processes for associates under your supervision.
  • Responsible for upholding the Leader’s Safety Six protocol: 1. Don’t tolerate unsafe acts 2. Identify and fix unsafe conditions 3. Report EVERY incident 4. Conduct accident investigations 5. Communicate with HR about incidents and subsequent investigations. 6. WALK THE TALK
