About The Position

As a member of the Lean Manufacturing team, you will be an active contributor to driving Lean manufacturing initiatives and bridging the gap between conceptual design and production by reverse-engineering prototypes into high-fidelity manufacturing plans.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GE required.
  • Formal education in 3D modeling, Industrial Design, or a related field, or at least 5 years of experience in fabrication and machining.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modeling, drawings, and assemblies, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience with MDI programming on HAAS mills and hands-on fabrication using manual equipment such as mills, lathes, bandsaws, and table saws.
  • Demonstrated use of precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, with working knowledge of GD&T principles.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and terminology, with a demonstrated commitment to safe industrial practices.
  • Ability to operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, FDM/SLA 3D printers, and a variety of power and hand tools.
  • Ability to perform occasional TIG welding, electrical and pneumatic systems installation, and material handling activities including lifting and bending.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work overtime as required including occasional weekend shift.
  • Willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes

  • Experience with Mastercam workflow.
  • Experience implementing or maintaining electrically or pneumatically operated systems.
  • Experience supporting Design-for-Manufacturability projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • A practical, hands-on mindset with the ability to translate unconventional concepts into functional, high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Reverse engineer prototypes and existing machine components to create production-ready technical drawings and build plans.
  • Maintain clear records of design intent, fabrication revisions, and project progress for multiple production support system builds.
  • Modify existing designs to enhance safety, performance, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate across departments to support continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility.
  • Support rapid ideation processes during kaizen events through fabrication of physical system mockups.
  • Manage consumable product inventory and equipment maintenance in the prototyping workshop.
  • Promote 5S culture while assisting in staff training and other in-house workshops.
