About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Tool Maker you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by driving continuous improvements in tool builds and repair, providing support of production processes and equipment focusing on plastic and rubber injection molding, high speed stamping and a very large assortment of assembly equipment to produce products such as water filters, electrical termination, hard hats, respirator components, ear plugs, locating and marking solutions, etc. You will also provide documented ideas and suggestions to reduce maintenance costs, improve operations, and increase equipment reliability. Use safe working methods/procedures at all times to avoid personal injury, injury to co-workers, or damage to company equipment and/or property. Observe all 3M safety rules. Collaborate with colleagues in a supportive, team-oriented manner to help achieve the goals of the work unit, department, plant, and company.

Requirements

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this 3M Production role, in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws.
Possess an associate degree or technical diploma or higher in Machine Tool Technology (completed and verified prior to start) AND five (5) or more years of related work experience building, repairing, or maintaining molds or dies.
Ability to run all manual tool room equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

Seven (7) or more years of related work experience building, repairing, or maintaining molds or dies
Drafting/Modeling experience
Mastercam experience
CNC milling and/or turning experience
A strong mechanical aptitude with strong problem solving and reasoning ability.
Ability to lift/carry heavy materials
Ability to comprehend, understand, and apply written and verbal directions from standard operating procedures, safety rules and supervisor coaching
Ability to wear personal protective equipment in accordance with safety rules

Responsibilities
