About The Position
The Tool Maker assembles molds and fixtures, including spotting sliding components, and sets up and operates manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, and grinders. The role involves interpreting blueprints, sketches, and specifications to produce precision components; measuring and inspecting parts; and fitting, assembling, and modifying tooling, fixtures, and machined components. The Tool Maker maintains quality standards and ensures work meets specifications. The position is located in Columbus, Ohio. Compensation depends on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and job knowledge. Requirements
- 3+ years of tool and die, machining, or apprenticeship experience.
- Proficiency with manual mills, lathes, and precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics and perform shop math calculations.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with CAM programming, AutoCAD, and tool fabrication.
