About The Position

This role involves working from engineering drawings to lay out designs on raw material and then cut it to size and shape using manually controlled machine tools, power tools, and hand tools. The Tool Maker I will work independently on projects, assist production by communicating tooling issues, and contribute to team efforts with accuracy and timeliness. The position may also involve assisting in other duties as needed to ensure facility quality and meeting customer-specific requirements.

Requirements

• Ability to work from engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in using manually controlled machine tools (lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, jig grinders).
• Proficiency in using power tools (die grinders, rotary tools).
• Proficiency in using hand tools (files, honing stones).
• Ability to lay out designs on raw material.
• Ability to cut material to size and shape.

Responsibilities

• Work from engineering drawings to lay out the design on the raw material then cut it to size and shape using manually controlled machine tools (such as lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, and jig grinders), power tools (such as die grinders and rotary tools), and hand tools (such as files and honing stones).
• Work independently on projects.
• Assist production by communicating tooling issues.
• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing results with accuracy and timeliness.
• May be called upon to assist in other duties as needed to ensure quality level of facility activities.
• Responsible for all customer specific requirements where applicable, including those referenced in Quality manuals.
• Any/all other duties as assigned.
