The Tool Install Ramp Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality execution during the installation and ramp-up of MEP equipment within a semiconductor facility. This role plays a key part in driving field quality, resolving installation issues in real time, and maintaining alignment between construction, engineering, and operations teams. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, strong field presence, and the ability to manage high-pressure environments while maintaining a strategic, systems-driven mindset.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in semiconductor construction with a strong focus on MEP tool installation.
Proven experience leading field walks for MEP systems and equipment installations.
Strong understanding of semiconductor facility construction, tool install processes, and cleanroom environments.
Experience participating in interdisciplinary design reviews and driving quality improvements in design documentation.
Demonstrated ability to manage high workloads, multitask, and operate effectively in high-pressure “ramp” environments.
Strong problem-solving skills (Root cause analysis, 5 why's, etc.).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across cross-functional teams.
Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (preferred).

Responsibilities

Participate in daily construction, manufacturing, and operations meetings to proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
Lead field walks of MEP systems and tool installations to verify quality, identify discrepancies, and drive timely resolution to maintain project schedules.
Collaborate with design, construction, and equipment teams to support interdisciplinary design reviews and ensure constructability and quality standards are met.
Develop, maintain, and apply lessons learned checklists to improve drawing quality and installation execution across projects.
Monitor tool install activities during ramp phases to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Act as a key point of contact for quality-related issues, providing rapid “firefighting” support while also implementing long-term corrective actions.
Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, balancing immediate field issues with strategic quality initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and implementing systemic solutions.
Maintain detailed documentation of field observations, deviations, and corrective actions.
