The Tool Install Ramp Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality execution during the installation and ramp-up of MEP equipment within a semiconductor facility. This role plays a key part in driving field quality, resolving installation issues in real time, and maintaining alignment between construction, engineering, and operations teams. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, strong field presence, and the ability to manage high-pressure environments while maintaining a strategic, systems-driven mindset.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in semiconductor construction with a strong focus on MEP tool installation.
  • Proven experience leading field walks for MEP systems and equipment installations.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor facility construction, tool install processes, and cleanroom environments.
  • Experience participating in interdisciplinary design reviews and driving quality improvements in design documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high workloads, multitask, and operate effectively in high-pressure “ramp” environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills (Root cause analysis, 5 why's, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across cross-functional teams.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily construction, manufacturing, and operations meetings to proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
  • Lead field walks of MEP systems and tool installations to verify quality, identify discrepancies, and drive timely resolution to maintain project schedules.
  • Collaborate with design, construction, and equipment teams to support interdisciplinary design reviews and ensure constructability and quality standards are met.
  • Develop, maintain, and apply lessons learned checklists to improve drawing quality and installation execution across projects.
  • Monitor tool install activities during ramp phases to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Act as a key point of contact for quality-related issues, providing rapid “firefighting” support while also implementing long-term corrective actions.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, balancing immediate field issues with strategic quality initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and implementing systemic solutions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of field observations, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.
