Tool Engineers will apply manufacturing, industrial, and mechanical engineering principles to design tooling for the fabrication of aircraft components and assemblies. This encompasses tooling for current production, experimental, customer service, aftermarket, and defense products. The role involves leading and participating in cross-functional tooling projects to drive product and process improvements, creating tool designs, fabrication methods, and tool string coordination strategies for new aircraft. Additionally, the engineer will observe and analyze current methods for tool fabrication, making recommendations for improvements to enhance production quality, simplify work, and reduce costs. A key aspect is developing tool designs that optimize human factors and comply with OSHA standards, as well as supporting product lines with tool investigations for maintenance and repair.
