About The Position

This position is responsible for researching, coordinating, designing, and implementing tool engineering and designs to maintain and enhance AMMM and other programs needing assistance. The engineer will support suppliers and feeder plants, monitoring requests from domestic and international suppliers through SPAR, SATR, and REA submissions. This role involves reviewing, documenting, researching, and dispositioning requests as required. The position may also require travel to suppliers to review issues, aid in resource allocation, and work on tooling-related activities. This role is critical for staffing the Tool Engineering team as a support organization and will serve as the Tool Engineer for checking concepts and designs of team members and vendor support for AMMM. Additionally, the engineer may work on tool engineering projects for AMMM as needed by management.

Requirements

  • Experience with basic blueprint reading and mechanical engineering concepts (stress analysis, & / statics and strength of materials).
  • Experience with electronic drafting &.or design software.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hands on mechanical experience.
  • Computer aided design experience on any 3D drawing and analysis software package.
  • Exposure to root cause analysis and continuous improvement concepts.
  • Exposure to Vendor support and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Exposure to disposition tooling request from vendors on tooling issues and ability to research and validate request.

Responsibilities

  • Researching, coordinating, designing, and implementing tool engineering and designs.

  • Traveling to suppliers when required to review issues, aid in resource and work tooling related activities.
  • Checking concepts and designs of team members and vendor support for AMMM.
  • Working tool engineering projects for AMMM when needed per management.
