This position involves working independently to disassemble, repair, and reassemble multi-plane and single-plane core dies of various sizes. The role also includes manufacturing fixtures and gauges with some complexity. The technician will perform all responsibilities of B and C technicians, abide by plant safety rules, and promote safety awareness. They will maintain a good selection of necessary tools, set up and machine complex parts, fixtures, and gauges to engineering specifications, and analyze die, fixture, and gauge problems to offer solutions. Additionally, the technician will set up and sharpen drills, tool bits, and contour cutters, use all tool room inspection equipment, and repair damaged dies, fixtures, and gauges per work orders according to engineers’ instructions. The role also involves manufacturing fixtures, gauges, and setter tooling from sketches, diagrams, and blueprints, assisting in training tool room apprentices and new employees, attending training functions for technology updates, and maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work area. The technician will also train others in the aforementioned areas, possess in-depth knowledge of basic and complex tooling, and perform other duties as required, while maintaining a high attendance record.
