About The Position

The Tool and Die Supervisor manages day-to-day operations of the tool and die shop by coordinating work between the various functional groups. They will lead a team of machinists and fabricators in making extrusion tooling and equipment components for internal stakeholders at Trex. In addition, they will also maintain relationships with numerous vendors in order to efficiently maintain equipment, source materials, and outsource overflow and/or specialty work.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
10+ years of CNC machining experience
Experience leading a CNC Machining team
Working knowledge of machining and fabrication processes including milling, turning, EDM, and welding
Working knowledge of CAD/CAM packages
Ability to manage 10+ direct reports

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or higher
Experience with Fulcrum shop management platform
Experience with SolidWorks CAD
Experience with Esprit CAM

Lead a group of tool and die makers by communicating clear priorities, setting goals aligned with company’s strategic plan, and facilitating opportunities for growth.
Manage the production of all parts and assemblies through the tool and die shop including extrusion tooling and equipment components.
Coordinate with management to determine priority of jobs through the shop and forecast completion dates.
Ensure finished goods meet all quality requirements.
Improve shop effectiveness by driving continuous improvement activities related to throughput, efficiency, and cost-saving opportunities.
Facilitate the maintenance and troubleshooting of tool and die shop equipment by working with tool and die makers and external vendors.
Build and maintain relationships with external vendors to source raw materials, tooling, hardware, and technical support.
