About The Position

The Tool & Die Maker creates and matches tooling to part drawings using appropriate equipment, including surface grinders, wire EDM, and RO grinders. The role creates angles and radii on tooling to produce high-quality parts while meeting quality and production standards.

The position involves reading blueprints, making or modifying tooling, building dies, welding fixtures, operating tool-room machines, and maintaining tools and stock. The role is based in a factory and requires teamwork.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of quality inspection gauges and measurement tools.
• Ability to accurately complete required production-system documentation, such as production reports and inspection reports.
• Experience operating a manual lathe, mill, grinder, and cut-off saw.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift experience.
• Experience operating CNC lathes and mills.
• CAD design experience.
• Journeyman Tool & Die Maker / Repair qualification.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and use measuring devices to make or modify tooling for existing or new jobs.
• Build dies and weld fixtures and miscellaneous items using supplied prints or bench design.
• Ensure tools are sharpened and tool holders are in good working condition before returning them to shelves or tool drawers.
• Repair or requisition replacement parts, tools, or hardware as needed to maintain stock.
• Set up and operate tool-room machines for specific form tools, taps, drills, or grinder holders.
• Complete required production-system documentation, including production and inspection reports.
