About The Position
This hourly role is a part of our plant Tool & Die team and reports to the Tool & Die Supervisor. Requirements
- High degree of precision and control in work where damage could be high and where muscular control and delicate touch are required.
- High degree of attention and care required, preventing injury to self and others when operating machine tools.
- Completion of formal apprenticeship program with journeyman card or equivalent to 8 years’ experience.
Responsibilities
- Plan the setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and machine tool feeds and speed.
- Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies. Uses hand tools of the trade.
- Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies. Set up, runs off and tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same.
