About The Position

Responsible for the daily repair, maintenance, and modification of progressive dies according to design specs and customer requirements. This role ensures smooth plant operations by troubleshooting press and die issues, machining replacement components, and safely operating tool room machinery.

Requirements

• Comprehensive understanding of proper die-build procedures, punch press equipment, and metal forming processes.
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers, alongside standard tool room machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, CAD drawings, and procedural manuals.
• Strong grasp of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, and decimals for precise measurements.
• 5+ years of related experience preferred, or a TMA certificate.

Responsibilities

• Build and repair progressive dies following strict design and blueprint guidelines.
• Modify existing tooling to adapt to changing customer requests and engineering requirements.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex press and die performance issues on the floor.
• Execute tooling changeovers efficiently across multi-part production tooling systems.
• Operate machine tools including drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines to fabricate components.
• Conduct test runs on completed tools and dies to check for smoothness, defects, and contours.
• Maintain safety standards while working near moving parts in a loud, industrial environment.
