About The Position

Our Client in York, Pennsylvania, is a leading provider of precision metal stampings for the automotive, medical, and electrical connector industries. Their products support a wide range of advanced applications, including EpiPens, blood collection devices, hybrid vehicles, and surgical instruments. They are committed to delivering innovative, high-precision manufacturing solutions and continuously seek skilled, motivated individuals to join our team. Seeking candidates for 1st and 2nd shift. Looking for a highly skilled Toolmaker to design, fabricate, and maintain precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures. In this role, you will analyze technical specifications, operate various machine tools, and perform critical repairs to ensure high-quality production standards and minimal downtime. Develop tooling to First Article standards while maintaining required tolerances to ensure proper qualification of stamped products. Meet all quality, efficiency, and production expectations.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of experience in tool and die making or a completed state approved apprenticeship.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and precision measuring instruments
  • Thorough understanding of machine shop practices, mechanical principles, machining operations, and material characteristics.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate & Assemble: Read and interpret blueprints or CAD drawings to build precision tools and complex progressive dies.
  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate stamping presses and other related machinery, including lathes, mills, and grinders.
  • Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose die issues during production and perform necessary repairs or maintenance.
  • Quality Inspection: Use micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify that finished parts meet tolerances as tight as .0001".
  • Collaboration: Work with engineering and production teams to improve tooling performance and manufacturing efficiency.
