About The Position

IMT Precision is recruiting for a Tool Maker to join their team. This role contributes to the delivery of essential manufacturing solutions with precision and reliability. The Tool Maker is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, and holding devices used within the manufacturing process. This role supports production and maintenance operations through precision machining, troubleshooting, and tooling improvements while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The Tool Maker works closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to support operational efficiency, tooling reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Completion of Tool & Die (C of Q)
  • Successful completion of apprenticeship
  • Minimum 3 years as a Tool Maker or Maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of tool making, machining, and manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and quality inspection techniques
  • Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and procedures
  • Understanding of CNC machining, heat treating, and metal fabrication processes
  • Strong precision machining and fabrication skills
  • Proficiency operating CNC machines, lathes, grinders, saws, mills, and related equipment
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Outlook
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to make decisions based on measurable information and technical specifications
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain precise tolerances
  • Ability to safely operate lift trucks, hoists, and power tools
  • Ability to lift material and stand for extended periods while working with heavy machinery
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or hold Permanent Residency

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing, assembling, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, fixtures, gauges, and holding devices.
  • Supporting production and maintenance operations through precision machining, troubleshooting, and tooling improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Working closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to support operational efficiency, tooling reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
