About The Position

The nVent Apprenticeship Program is State certified through Apprentice Ohio and nationally recognized. The NTMA-U online learning program delivers the classroom instruction required for the program. nVent covers 100% of the tuition costs! In this position, the associate must follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures. The associate must work well with their hands and have a strong eye for detail. A journeyman tool and die maker / machinist is a highly skilled artisan. To grow in this role, the candidate must be willing to learn and be able to thrive in an environment where they receive hands-on instruction. They should have a working knowledge of engineering, science, design, and technology. An apprentice must also be highly detail-oriented and a perfectionist. The apprentice will set-up and operate all machine tools in a tool room environment including but not limited to, conventional mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, grinders and CNC equipment. Must be able to work independently with minimum guidance.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and models
Capable of using standard tools and measurement devices such as micrometers, scales, rulers, depth gauges and calipers
Abilities to meet the physical and environmental demands of working in the tool room and trouble shooting in the press room.

Nice To Haves

Trade school experience is preferred (Machining, Fabrication, etc)
Working knowledge of engineering, science, design, and technology
Highly detail-oriented and a perfectionist

Responsibilities
