About The Position

Level two tooling machinists work under minimal supervision to operate and perform basic setups of machines such manual and cnc mills, grinders, lathes and EDMs. Basic familiarity with thread/form roll tooling. This role requires intermediate competencies in print reading and inspection processes, as well as basic trouble shooting. 1-3 Years Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction. Adheres to quality processes including in-process inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications. Correctly interpret work orders Lift up to 35lbs Able to work overtime as needed Operate basic Lathes, Grinders, and Polishing Equipment Machine intermediate tooling components with assistance Begin to perform basic equipment setups Communicate with other departments as needed (Thread-roll, heading, etc.) Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • The ability to read and write English.
  • The ability to perform basic shop math, fractions, decimals
  • The ability to use basic hand tools, wrenches, etc.
  • Intermediate print reading
  • Basic familiarity with all relevant tools & equipment including EDM and hone machines
  • The ability to use basic inspection tools such micrometers, calipers, comparators
  • The ability to read and interpret work instructions and basic prints and dimensions

Nice To Haves

  • Basic familiarity with thread/form roll tooling.
