About The Position

Gather, organize, and prepare all required materials for upcoming CNC machining operations, including tooling, work holding/ fixturing, setup documentation, and stock preparation. Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of CNC milling experience

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain inventory of tool holders, cutting tools, and fixturing.
  • Interpret CNC program setup sheets, tool lists, and job routers to gather and prepare the required materials for upcoming jobs.
  • Perform offline setup steps as much as possible to maximize machine spindle uptime, including stock preparation, tool modification, etc.
  • In coordination with production planning and production supervision, allocate upcoming jobs to specific machines based on capability and daily production plan, working several jobs ahead.
  • Inspect and restock used tooling, analyzing tool wear and determining when tools should be disposed of or re-sharpened.
  • Disassemble, clean, and store materials returned to crib once machining jobs are completed. Verify that everything that was issued for each job gets returned.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate inventories of required tooling and communicating potential shortages.
  • Be aware of tool consumption/ wear that seems excessive and alert programming department so they can make improvements.
