The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for coordinating with team leads on tool kits needed for the start of a shift, ensuring tools are checked out and at the point of use prior to shift start. This role involves coordinating with maintenance on tool servicing and return, performing basic daily maintenance on returned tools, and issuing consumable tooling to mechanics. The attendant will also perform cleanliness sweeps, manage tool calibration, ensure part protection is used, and coordinate with purchasing on needed items. Inventory management, including maintaining a full inventory listing and monthly cycle counts, is a key responsibility. Additionally, the role involves issuing paint and sealant, bringing ideas for efficiency improvements to the continuous improvement department, and performing additional material handling activities as time allows. The attendant will also manage manufacturing system inventory accuracy, review work orders to stage and deliver materials, monitor inventory levels, unload and store incoming materials, conduct forklift safety checks, and support other departments during high-flow situations or relocations. Recommending equipment repairs or upgrades is also part of the role.
