About The Position

Nordson is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to join their team. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, quality production by following established work instructions and company procedures. The attendant will set up and operate various CNC computerized equipment, including mills, lathes, and drills, with limited supervision. They will also perform routine machinery maintenance, visual tests on parts, and maintain an inventory of replacement parts. A strong understanding of production flow and its impact on plant metrics and customers is essential. The role requires proficiency in blueprint interpretation, GD&T, and the use of precision measuring tools. Safety procedures and maintaining a clean work environment are also key responsibilities. Opportunities for cross-training on other equipment are available.

Requirements

  • Follow established assembly procedures to ensure quality production.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a machining environment beyond post secondary or trade school education required.
  • Recognized apprenticeship may be required.
  • Consistently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Consistently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Certificate in machine shop technology or technology/machinist - preferred associates degree.

Responsibilities

  • Follow established work instructions and company procedures to ensure safe, quality production.
  • Set up tool registers, mills, lathes, drills, Bridgeport, switches, offsets, and intermediate programming CNC computerized equipment for defined runs with limited supervision or assistance.
  • Run and set up Swiss tool machines and twin spindle lathes.
  • Run and set up pallet changers and horizontal mills and vertical mills.
  • Perform routine machinery maintenance and running visual tests on broken or worn parts.
  • Keep inventory of machine replacement parts.
  • Understand the flow of production and how their production affects plant metrics and customers.
  • Interpret blueprints and title block GD&T, and determine key and critical characteristics.
  • Utilize calipers, gauges, indicators, micrometers, and other hand tools related to the occupation.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines in the assembly process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Cross-train to on other equipment as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
