About The Position

DRT is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to support our CNC machining operations in Dayton/Kettering, Ohio. This role is responsible for managing tooling inventory, preparing tooling kits, supporting machinists, and ensuring production teams have the right tools available when they need them. The Tool Crib Attendant is a critical part of our manufacturing team, helping reduce downtime, maintain inventory accuracy, and support the quality and delivery standards our customers expect.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, machine shop, tool room, warehouse, or inventory control.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to maintain inventory records.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and inventory documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to safety and quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting CNC machining, aerospace manufacturing, or precision manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, holders, gauges, and machining supplies.
  • Experience preparing tooling kits for VMCs, CNC mills, or machining centers.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP inventory systems.
  • Previous tool room, machinist, or production support experience.
  • Forklift or material handling experience.

Responsibilities

  • Issue tools, equipment, and supplies to machinists and production employees.
  • Maintain accurate records of tools and equipment issued, returned, repaired, and replaced.
  • Prepare tooling kits for Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) and CNC machining operations.
  • Stage tooling and materials to support production schedules.
  • Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming tooling and supplies.
  • Perform inventory counts and maintain accurate tooling records.
  • Locate missing or misplaced tools and maintain accountability of company assets.
  • Inspect tooling for wear, damage, and defects.
  • Clean, service, lubricate, and coordinate repair or replacement of tooling.
  • Deliver tools and equipment to production areas as needed.
  • Order replacement tools, inserts, and consumables.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient tool crib environment.
