About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining and organizing the day-to-day operations and inventory of the Tool Crib. The attendant will utilize various computer applications, including Microsoft Suite, inventory management systems, and maintenance management systems. Key duties involve initiating purchase order requisitions, processing indirect receipts, tracking tool crib inventory, and receiving/dispensing tools and supplies. The position also requires inspecting tools for defects, containerizing hazardous waste, and supporting specific shop needs like weld wire or coating powder. The attendant will interface with engineering, quality, process leaders, and production control teams, and perform material handling duties, including fork truck operation. Additionally, they will support EHS audits, participate in process improvement initiatives, and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to wear PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.) with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Willingness to work A, B C, or D Shift
  • Fork truck operation required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and organize the day to day operations and inventory of the Tool Crib
  • Use computer applications including, but not limited to Microsoft suite, inventory management system, and maintenance management system
  • Initiate purchase order requisitions
  • Indirect receiving including purchase order processing
  • Tool crib inventory tracking as required
  • Receive and dispense tools and supplies
  • Inspect tools and equipment for defects and wear
  • Containerize and store hazardous waste
  • Support specific shop needs, as required (e.g. weld wire, coating powder, regrinds)
  • Interface with team members including engineering, quality, process leaders, and production control
  • Perform material handling duties as required [fork truck operation required]
  • Perform and support Environmental, Health and Safety audits and related activities
  • Participate in process improvement, cycle reduction, and other activities as required to support the Bangor team and site goals
  • Communicate effectively and work well with others
  • Maintain accurate written and computer records
