This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of specialists supporting New Glenn GS1 Vehicle Stage Integration, you will maintain tool accountability, calibration compliance, workspace readiness, and FOD prevention across assigned cribs and asset cabinets. You will ensure production technicians always have access to the tools they need, in the condition they need them, without having to stop production to resolve tooling issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years experience in tool crib operations, inventory management, warehouse, or a hands-on technical environment requiring tool accountability
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with experience performing inspections, audits, or inventory verification
  • Experience learning and navigating multiple software platforms simultaneously
  • Ability to identify common hand tools, precision instruments, and powered equipment by sight and function
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for shift handoffs and issue reporting
  • Comfortable working on feet for full shift duration, lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating in a production floor environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, or defense manufacturing tool control environments
  • Familiarity with FOD (Foreign Object Debris/Damage) prevention programs and clean-as-you-go practices
  • Experience with calibration tracking, calibrated tool handling, or metrology lab coordination
  • Knowledge of tool control policies or equivalent aerospace quality and tool accountability standards
  • Forklift or material handling equipment certification
  • Experience with digital inventory or asset tracking systems
  • Understanding of 5S workplace organization methodology

Responsibilities

  • Perform tool accountability inspections three times per shift, physically verifying every tool in every toolbox and cabinet against digital inventory records and documenting results
  • Conduct FOD/5S walks at the beginning of each shift, inspecting work areas for foreign object debris, tool accountability, supply condition, and workplace organization compliance
  • Verify tool accountability chits are present and accurate in all toolbox locations including Out for Calibration, Lost/Damaged, On Loan, and New Tool on Order designations
  • Maintain digital tool inventories across multiple tracking systems, updating tool status in real time as tools are moved, broken, loaned, sent for calibration, or replaced
  • Process tool requests from production technicians including checkout, return, and accountability verification using physical chit and digital tracking systems
  • Identify and report broken, worn, damaged, or missing tools immediately through formal reporting processes, placing appropriate chits and initiating replacement workflows
  • Submit calibration service tickets for tools approaching or past their calibration due dates and track tools through the calibration process
  • Monitor loaned tools, verify return due dates, and follow up with borrowing work centers to ensure timely returns
  • Maintain organized, shadowed, and labeled toolbox layouts per company FOD and tool control procedures
  • Support end-of-shift handoff by contributing to shift pass down communications covering inspection results, active tasks, issues found, and action items for the incoming shift
