About The Position

Primarily responsible for the assembly of parts and subassemblies to form finished products. Assist shipper receiver in shipping and receiving of goods as necessary. Assist with material moving for other departments as necessary. Document and complete all necessary paperwork in a legible and timely manner.

  • Grade 12 basic math skills
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
  • Ability to follow established procedures, practices, and technical drawings
  • Good communication skills and problem-solving abilities
  • A strong commitment to HSE guidelines and quality requirements
  • Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs, lift items weighing more than 50 lbs with assistance from other workers, forklift and/or overhead hoist
  • Ability to work with others in a fast-paced environment to achieve job goals
  • Work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic, able to work unsupervised and self-motivated
  • Good physical fitness, ability to stand or walk for long periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble/assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts to form subassemblies or finished product
  • Follow detailed written procedures and technical drawings
  • Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs
  • Check mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for alignment and proper functioning
  • Perform quality control inspections on assembled tools
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality paperwork in a timely manner
  • Operate various hand tools and precision measurement equipment
  • Operate forklifts, handcarts, dollies, pallet jacks and overhead cranes
  • Phosphating and painting of parts and products
  • Counting inventory
  • General shop and equipment maintenance
  • Consistently perform housekeeping in work area
  • Adhere to health, safety, and quality policies
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Participate in training and safety meetings
  • Perform other duties as required
