The Tool and Die Technician will participate in installations and start-up assistance for new installations and die modifications. They will design and fabricate small fixtures for equipment, discover methods of improving efficiency and ensuring quality standards, and assist QA with finding and implementing corrective actions from customer rejections. This role involves communicating with other shifts, operators, and technicians to give and receive updates on die status, interpreting blueprints and schematics, and implementing methods, practices, and techniques of maintaining dies. The technician will perform preventive, predictive, project, and reactive maintenance as required, and make necessary changes to predictive maintenance schedules based on lessons learned. They will react quickly to die issues, evaluate the specific nature of trouble through troubleshooting and data analysis using the 5 why method, determine root causes, and execute repairs to restore the die to safe and efficient operational status. The role also includes reading lessons learned across to other dies/issues, communicating die repair details to management, maintaining accurate service records, inputting data into the maintenance management system, and communicating essential spare parts supply. Additionally, they will develop, design, and implement process improvements, and assist in training newly assigned team members. Other duties as assigned.
