About The Position

As a Tool and Die Repair Group Leader, you’ll be part of our team located in Willard, OH. You’ll get to supervise and manage all scheduled and unscheduled die, fixture, and machine repair. You will also assist with die repair and other special facility projects. This role involves coordinating schedules, following up on assignments, and training new apprentices as needed. You will collaborate with facility departments and provide input and direction for production operations. A key part of this role is identifying, maintaining, and continuing to upgrade all training and educational needs of personnel in the Tool Room. You will maintain all documentation required to establish trends, monitor cost effectiveness, track labor force, and schedule accordingly. Aggressively reducing rework and scrap to improve profit margin is essential, as is maintaining quality and production standards following all ISO and company procedures. You will encourage and maintain productive teamwork within the department. You will operate lift truck, cranes, welders and other equipment to perform Tool Room duties. Additionally, you will assist in the selection, qualification, and development of all Tool Room personnel and perform Tool Room tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Possess or will acquire a state approved Tool & Die Journeyman’s card within 6 months of receiving the bid.
  • Must possess the experience and knowledge to effectively manage and direct all Tool Room related activities.
  • Have a proven strong tooling background in both new tool construction and tool maintenance.
  • Proven experience with project development and management through successful completion.
  • Must have a valid lift truck operators license or successfully complete lift truck training.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Ability to develop, implement, or improve preventative maintenance measures.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Working knowledge of machining, stamping, fabrication, and assembly operations.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in the Tool Room department is preferred.
