About The Position

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Tool and Die Maker performs their own setups and machines or grinds the components needed to complete assignments supporting manufacturing product lines. The role involves repairing header tools and making complete header tool components to close tolerances.

Requirements

• Good machining skills.
• Knowledge of shop math.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a tool maker in a manufacturing facility.
• Strong understanding of slip-fit and press-fit relationships.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setups and machine or grind components needed to complete assigned work.
• Repair header tools and make complete header tool components.
• Work with carbide, hardened tool steels, dies, and cutting tools to close tolerances.
• Use mills, lathes, surface grinders, hones, and fixtures.
• Use shop math as required.
• Clean and maintain the work area.
