About The Position

Tool Specialties Company is seeking a Tool and Die Maker to join their team. This role involves working on complex progressive and close tolerance trim dies, requiring efficiency, self-motivation, and collaboration with a team of twenty or more members. The company is a manufacturer of precision metal stamping tools, dies, and precision machined parts, committed to "Made in America" principles.

Requirements

  • At least seven (7) years of experience in a tool and die role.
  • Experience fabricating and maintaining metal stamping dies or a broad knowledge of metalworking/metal stamping industry.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose a variety of close tolerance tooling.
  • Strong fundamental math and hands-on problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Completed Tool and Die apprenticeship strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional overtime and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing, inspecting, and preparing raw materials and purchased components to ensure an efficient die build process.
  • Assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of metal stamping tools.
  • The set-up and operation of machinery, required to manufacture die components.
  • Performing maintenance on dies, fixtures, and special machines as needed.
  • Working closely with the department managers to meet daily throughput requirements.
  • Directing and coordinating support staff with requirements pertaining to your projects.
  • Ensuring all projects are processed in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Maintaining a supportive, productive, and respectful working environment through professional conduct and effective communication with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Upholding Tool Specialties safety culture by participating in job safety training and following all plant rules and work procedures.
  • Participating in a mature ISO 9001-2015 quality management system.
