Join us and help run what runs the world. This position reports to: Production Supervisor. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform a vital role in the production, installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment used in various manufacturing and automation processes. Each day, you will ensure the smooth operation and efficiency of equipment and systems. You will also showcase your expertise by conducting specialized work assignments as part of the production processes. The work model for the role is: onsite. This role is contributing to the ELIP in Puerto Rico. Main stakeholders are ABB Installation Products Caribe, LLC. in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico.

Requirements

  • Tool Maker Certification
  • At Least 2 years of Experience.
  • Determining causes of operating errors and implement solutions (trouble shooting).
  • Good computer skills to work with CAD/CAM technology, CNC machine tools.
  • Skill with precision measuring devices
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Knowledge with Machine Shop, Milling, Machines, Lathe, Welding SMAW, GTAW (TIG), Surface Grinder.
  • Electrical weld
  • Attention to details
  • Able to work and sole problems independently.

Responsibilities

  • Executes the assigned work according to agreed workflows and in accordance with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines.
  • Ensures availability of required materials to execute the assigned work according to workflow.
  • Responsible for the proper operation and daily maintenance of equipment in use.
  • Maintains safe working attitude and environment in the performance of daily activities.
  • Conducts shop floor operations in compliance with health & safety guidelines and reports any non-compliance.
  • Develop, design, and produce new tools and dies and molds.
  • Repair of worn or damaged tools, dies, gauges, jigs and fixture.
  • Make parts from blueprints and assemble and adjust machines used in the production process.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finish parts.
  • File, grind, shim, and adjust different parts to properly fit them together.
  • Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies, adjust as necessary.
  • Lift, position, and secure machined parts.
  • Assist and perform troubleshooting.
  • Responsible of providing required data and documentation related to processes and quality during production runs.
  • Reports in an accurate and timely manner all required quality characteristics and results from designated production lines according to our product.
  • Assure process output is aligned with our customers’ expectations.
