The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for monitoring the weekly press schedule to ensure that all required dies for production are ready. This role involves daily checks of die racks, prioritizing repairs for tagged dies in communication with the die setter, and performing necessary maintenance such as sharpening dies, inspecting punches and buttons, and repairing or replacing components. The position also includes building new tooling for new or re-engineered products, creating samples for experimental products, and modifying existing tooling. Additionally, the Tool and Die Maker will assist maintenance with fabricating parts for equipment and machine repairs, complete and maintain die workorder reports, monitor spare parts inventory, and communicate reorder points to management. Adherence to all safety rules, company policies, and maintaining a clean and orderly workplace are also key aspects of this role.
