About The Position

The Tool and Die Maker is responsible for monitoring the weekly press schedule to ensure that all required dies for production are ready. This role involves daily checks of die racks, prioritizing repairs for tagged dies in communication with the die setter, and performing necessary maintenance such as sharpening dies, inspecting punches and buttons, and repairing or replacing components. The position also includes building new tooling for new or re-engineered products, creating samples for experimental products, and modifying existing tooling. Additionally, the Tool and Die Maker will assist maintenance with fabricating parts for equipment and machine repairs, complete and maintain die workorder reports, monitor spare parts inventory, and communicate reorder points to management. Adherence to all safety rules, company policies, and maintaining a clean and orderly workplace are also key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

MONITOR WEEKLY PRESS SCHEDULE AND INSURE THAT DIES REQUIRED FOR PRODUCTION ARE READY.
CHECK DIE RACKS DAILY FOR TAGGED DIES, DETERMINE FROM SCHEDULE AND COMMUNICATION WITH DIE SETTER THE PRIORITY IN WHICH TAGGED DIES ARE TO BE REPAIRED.
SHARPEN DIES, AS REQUIRED, INSPECT PUNCHES, BUTTONS, ETC., AND REPAIR OR REPLACE AS NEEDED.
BUILD TOOLING FOR NEW OR RE-ENGINEERED PRODUCTS.
BUILD SAMPLES FOR NEW EXPERIMENTAL PRODUCTS.
MODIFY EXISTING TOOLING FOR RE-ENGINEERED PRODUCTS.
ASSIST MAINTENANCE IN FABRICATION OF PARTS NEEDED IN REPAIR OF EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES.
COMPLETE DIE WORKORDER REPORTS FOR EACH DIE BY DIE NUMBER AND MAINTAIN HISTORY FILES.
MONITOR INVENTORY LEVELS OF SPARE PARTS (PUNCHES, BUTTONS, NUTS, BOLTS, ETC.) AND COMMUNICATE WITH MANAGEMENT WHEN LEVELS REACH REORDER POINT.
FOLLOW ALL SAFETY RULES AND PROMOTE SAFETY.
CONFORM TO ALL COMPANY POLICIES.
MAINTAIN A CLEAN AND ORDERLY WORKPLACE.
