To streamline the production of plastic parts by ensuring that the tools (injection molds) and dies (various fixtures) are maintained/repaired according to set specifications. This role involves the conversion, repair, and adjustment of injection molding tools and fixtures, as well as performing preventive and corrective maintenance on these items, including complete assembly/disassembly and inspection. The position also includes routine mold cleaning/polishing, light maintenance in conjunction with the machine maintenance group, and inspecting/anticipating issues with molds by working closely with production and Quality Control. The Tool and Die Maker will also assist process technicians with setting up molds and automation, perform adjustments to end-of-arm tooling and pick/place robots, and be responsible for the documentation of mold usage and repair/maintenance cycles. Maintaining a high level of safety and cleanliness in the manufacturing area, communicating potential issues to supervisors, and following up on ongoing projects are also key responsibilities. The role assists in implementing new models and program updates and maintains 5S activities and Lean Manufacturing practices.
