Tool and Die Maker II-2nd shift 1:30pm-10:00pm
About The Position
Fabricates and/or repairs precision carbide and steel tooling, including dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges, for the manufacture of aircraft-quality fasteners. Uses automatic and manual machines, cutting apparatuses, and precision measuring devices. This is an on-site, full-time hourly manufacturing position at Allfast Fastening Systems LLC in City of Industry, California, on the second shift from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The expected pay range is $36.00–$46.00, with a 10% second-shift differential. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location; some roles may qualify for additional variable incentives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 2–3 years of experience fabricating aircraft-quality fastener tooling, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and apply basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including regular use of hands and occasional lifting or moving of up to 10 pounds.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, models, and descriptions to determine materials and machines needed to fabricate parts.
- Compute dimensions, plan layouts, and determine assembly methods and operation sequences.
- Measure, make, and scribe metal stock for machining.
- Test tooling performance under specified conditions.
- Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other equipment to machine parts; verify that parts conform to specifications.
- Analyze defective tooling to determine the cause of failure.
- Examine standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures and recommend design modifications related to construction and function.
- Meet and maintain productivity levels and quality requirements in support of departmental standards, goals, and schedules.
- Perform record keeping and housekeeping, and follow safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
