About The Position

OTTO Engineering is seeking a Tool and Die Maker Apprentice to join their team. This apprenticeship program is designed to provide comprehensive training in metal stamping, die set-up, and the operation of various manual and CNC machining equipment. The program combines three years of classroom instruction through the Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA) with hands-on work experience at the OTTO Tech Center. Apprentices will learn to operate Tool Room equipment, perform machine maintenance, build and assemble new tools, interpret tooling prints, utilize SPC, and maintain a clean and safe work area, all while understanding the operation of the press and assisting with related duties.

Requirements

• Willingness to excel in the machining / tool and die trade
• Completion of an industrial technology high school program or equivalent
• Good communication and organizational skills
• High school diploma
• Consistent attendance
• Attention to neat appearance
• Availability for nonstandard or extended work schedule
• Reach heights that may require a stepladder
• Lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in a quick paced environment

Responsibilities

• Operate Tool Room equipment
• Do maintenance on machines
• Build and assemble new tools
• Interpret tooling prints

• Keep a clean and safe work area
• Understand the operation of the press
• Assist with other related duties as required or assigned
