About The Position

Overview 2nd shift, M-Fri, 3pm - 11pm Plans and performs required machine operations to maintain dies, fixtures, gauges, tools, jigs, machines and equipment. Responsibilities Designs, constructs, maintains, alters, checks, and repairs dies, fixtures, gauges, tools, jigs, machines, and equipment. Ability to analyze specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualize products to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts. Trains, mentors, supports, and maintains strong internal communication within the tool and die department. Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations. Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, shaper, and grinder, to machine parts, and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications. Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part to improve tool life or performance. Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product. Performs close and exacting bench and assembly operations to fit, align, calibrate, adjust, assemble, and finish work. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and craftsmanship.
  • Strong understanding of tool and die design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in reading , creating, and interpreting complex technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills i nclude maintaining and upgrading various types of machine tools, selecting proper cutting tools, speeds, and feeds on machine tools and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with diverse personalities and individuals at various levels.
  • High school diploma , GED, or equivalent required.
  • C ompletion of apprenticeship in Tool and Die field, must have obtained a Journeyman’s card.
  • Five years of related experience and/or training in Tool and Die making procedures; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
