About The Position

This role involves transcribing Tongan audio and video content, analyzing speaker tone and intent, and reviewing transcribed material for accuracy and fluency in both Tongan and English. The expert will also define Tongan words and expressions, provide feedback on language usage, and collaborate with project coordinators to ensure high-quality deliverables. A key aspect of the role is contributing to the refinement of AI language models through specialized linguistic tasks.

Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in both Tongan and English, with superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience with audio/video transcription and timestamping at a professional level.
• Strong attention to emotional context, tone analysis, and speaker intent within linguistic material.
• Advanced knowledge of Tongan grammar, vocabulary, idioms, and cultural context.
• Ability to deliver thorough and well-structured linguistic analysis on complex language tasks.
• Self-driven and detail-oriented, with a commitment to quality and at least 15 hours of engagement per week.

• Background in linguistics, translation, localization, or related language services is highly regarded.
