About The Position

As a Toddler Teacher at the award-winning Primrose School of Evergreen, San Jose, CA you will provide a safe and loving environment for babies ranging in age from 12 to 24 months old. Through a daily schedule of purposeful play, you’ll help lay a strong foundation as children navigate a classroom environment, build their motor skills and grow their vocabulary. In 2024, Primrose School of Evergreen was voted as the best Primrose School across 525 schools in America, and we’re looking for passionate teachers to join our exceptional team. The curriculum is provided with clear daily plans, necessary resources, and support so you can focus your time in the classroom on forming connections with the children—and spend your time outside of school focused on yourself. You will be carefully paired with a co-teacher who complements your teaching style and have an assigned Support Teacher in your classroom who covers your break and planning time daily. The classroom will be fully stocked, with all materials provided by the school. You will also have a dedicated Education Coach to help you develop your skills and thrive in your role.

Requirements

MUST have 12 core Early Childhood Education units with a grade of C or better required. (Child development, Child-family-community, two Curriculum classes), along with 3 units in Infant/Toddler required.
Must have patience and a strong desire to love and nurture young children
Must meet required state background check
Must be able to work on an iPad to enter children's daily logs and write incident reports and messages to parents.

Nice To Haves

Work experience in a licensed childcare facility preferred

Responsibilities

Engage, interact, and supervise children in positive ways to support their growth and learning
Provides an safe, attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision-making by the children
Plan with the Education Coach and implement the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Primrose School curriculum outlines and materials
Complete, supervise and monitor continual evaluation of each child’s developmental needs
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and childcare regulations.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and classroom activities.
