About The Position
Kama‘āina Kids, recognized as one of Hawai‘i’s Top Workplaces, is hiring Toddler Teachers and Aides in Hawai'i Kai. This role is for individuals who love teaching preschool and are seeking a supportive, organized workplace that values experienced educators. The position involves planning and leading engaging classroom experiences, supporting children's social-emotional growth and early learning milestones, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, partnering with families, and collaborating with the teaching team. Kama‘āina Kids offers a nationally accredited program with a strong curriculum, a well-supported environment, and opportunities for professional growth and advancement. They are a large, locally owned nonprofit childcare provider with preschools and school-age programs across the Hawaiian Islands.
Requirements
- At least 18 with a high school diploma or GED
- 12–24 months of experience with children under age 3 in a licensed setting (for Infant/Toddler Teachers)
- Infant/Toddler Training (training hours can be provided)
- Nurturing, patient, and dependable team player with a passion for infant and toddler care (for Infant/Toddler Teachers)
- Experience working with children in any setting (babysitting, tutoring, coaching, youth programs, etc.) or a strong interest in working with children (for Teacher Aides)
- Kind, patient, and energetic; eager to learn and grow in early childhood education with a willingness to be trained (for Teacher Aides)
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and reside in Hawai‘i (or have plans to relocate)
Nice To Haves
- Experience toward a Teacher or Caregiver role
- CDA (Child Development Associate)
