A Traffic Operations Center (TOC) and Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operator execute a critical role for monitoring real-time traffic conditions, managing incidents, and communicating roadway information to the public and emergency responders.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Typing at a minimum of 20wpm
- Possesses the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Adapt in a rapidly changing environment with the potential to learn from the on-the-job experiences.
Nice To Haves
- 1-3 Years in dispatching, call center, or traffic management experience
Responsibilities
- Using Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, roadway sensors, and other applications/software to detect accidents, congestion, or debris.
- Coordinate responses to traffic events by dispatching Road
- Activate and update Road Signs to alert motorists of lane closures and fare/toll changes.
- Monitor the functionality of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) field devices (cameras, sensors) and report failures for maintenance.
