About The Position

Work as a TMS technician by helping psychiatric nurse practitioners in performing patient visits by taking patients’ vital signs, discussing their medical history, mapping location for TMS coil, handling TMS instrument throughout TMS appointment, finishing clinical or administrative tasks by putting patient information in their medical records. Technicians may also help physicians with tasks like troubleshooting equipment or recording data during patient exams.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Word and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time.
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment to maintain testing quality and efficiency.
  • Ability to facilitate for up to 10 hours a day.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Be able to float to other VMW TMS locations within the Twin Cities.
  • Administer TMS treatments according to the prescribed protocol and physician directives.
  • Be welcoming to patients and provide them with support throughout their TMS appointment by providing clear instruction and reassurance.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor TMS equipment, ensuring proper coil placement and machine calibration.
  • Perform clerical work such as requesting prior authorizations, reviewing medical records, and various phone calls.
  • Maintain a clean and organized office area for patients.
  • Prep exam rooms for clinical procedures and assisting practitioners with patient care.
  • Maintains confidentiality when interacting with patients, families, personnel and the public.
  • Maintains positive public relations image with peers, patients and visitors by presenting a positive, helpful attitude.
  • Answers telephone calls, identifying self and clinic/practice with proper patient triage.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Consulting and influence skills to provide recommendations and follow up with Clinic manager.
