About The Position

The TMS Technician is responsible for administering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments to patients diagnosed with depression, anxiety, OCD, or other psychiatric conditions. This role involves patient preparation, operating TMS equipment, monitoring treatment sessions, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring an excellent patient experience. The technician works closely with psychiatrists and clinical staff to support safe, effective, and compliant delivery of TMS therapy. The TMS tech is also responsible for coordinating with patients for scheduling and receiving and making calls from the front desk.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn and operate medical devices safely.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a clinical team.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a TMS Technician, Medical Assistant, Behavioral Health Technician, or similar healthcare role.
  • Experience working with patients undergoing psychiatric or neurological treatment.
  • Basic understanding of mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, OCD).
  • TMS Technician Certification from Neurocare, NeuroStar, MagVenture, BrainsWay, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for TMS treatment and ensure comfort and safety throughout each session.
  • Operate and adjust TMS devices according to clinical protocols and physician orders.
  • Perform motor threshold (MT) mapping and treatment localization.
  • Monitor patients’ response to treatment and document any adverse events.
  • Provide clear, compassionate communication and answer patient questions.
  • Do data entry for all TMS patients in EMR.
  • Work on getting Prior Authorization for patients and do eligibility check.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR for each session.
  • Follow all clinical protocols, safety guidelines, and HIPAA standards.
  • Assist with insurance documentation, forms, and prior authorizations as needed.
  • Ensure proper functioning of TMS equipment; conduct routine safety checks.
  • Report device malfunctions and coordinate service requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment room.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists, medical assistants, and administrative staff.
  • Participate in team meetings, staff trainings, and quality-improvement initiatives.
  • Support scheduling and patient flow when necessary.
