About The Position

As a Professional Services Consultant, you will be a key delivery expert within our Professional Services organization, responsible for the full implementation lifecycle of our TotaLogistix transportation Management System (TMS). You will work directly with customers to scope requirements, design solutions, configure and implement the platform, conduct testing, provide UAT support and deliver hands-on training, from discovery through go-live. You will collaborate closely with Project Management, our Center of Excellence, Product, and R&D teams to deliver successful go lives, measurable value while creating referenceable raving fans.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a professional services, implementation, or solutions consulting role focused on TMS or supply chain software.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or integrating TMS platforms (e.g., MercuryGate, BluJay, Oracle TMS, SAP TM, or similar).
  • Experience with implementing and configuring Cloud multi-tenant (SaaS) software applications (preferably Transportation Management Systems TMS)
  • Deep understanding of the transportation lifecycle, from order creation and carrier selection through tendering, tracking, settlement, and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with TL, LTL, and parcel shipping modes, carrier networks, and freight rating.
  • Must be able to travel up an average of 25% annually
  • Understanding of shipping compliance documentation: Bill of Lading, Commercial invoices, Packing Slips, RateCon Sheets, Load Sheets, Certificate of Origin, Shippers Letter of Instruction
  • Practical experience integrating ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) with transportation platforms.
  • Experience providing remote training via meeting management software (e.g. Microsoft Teams)
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to facilitate efficiency in delivering documentation
  • Strong facilitation skills — able to lead discovery workshops, executive briefings, and end-user training sessions with equal confidence.
  • Aptitude to quickly get up to speed and become on an expert on implemented software.
  • Ability to protect the project scope, budget & timelines and suggest paid change orders promptly when a need arises
  • Ability to remove barriers in the path of customer's success and provide white glove treatment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with freight audit, billing, and carrier management workflows.
  • Familiarity with carrier APIs and EDI/API-based connectivity (e.g., 204, 214, 210 transactions).
  • Background in supply chain operations, logistics, or freight brokerage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site and remote discovery sessions to capture customer requirements, map existing transportation workflows, and define project scope and success criteria.
  • Design end-to-end TMS solutions tailored to customer needs, covering truckload (TL), less-than-truckload (LTL), and parcel shipping modes.
  • Configure, implement, and validate the TMS platform including carrier integrations, rating engines, tendering workflows, and reporting.
  • Develop and execute test plans, unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring solution quality prior to go-live.
  • Deliver tailored role-based training to customer teams (end users, admins, IT) via structured workshops, documentation, and hands-on sessions.
  • Provide go-live support and hypercare, serving as the primary escalation point during cutover and early operations.
  • Integrate the TMS with ERP systems (e.g. Aptean ERP’s, MS Business Central, SAP, NetSuite) and carrier APIs, coordinating with customer IT and third-party vendors as needed.
  • Integrate the TMS with Fleet Management Systems for routing
  • Create configuration documentation/videos, implementation documentation, solution design, tailored test and UAT test scripts by leveraging AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT etc.)
  • Work closely with PMs to properly manage scope and set expectations regarding in/out of scope items
  • Partner with Project Managers to manage project timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications throughout the engagement.
  • Serve as a trusted feedback loop between customer deployments and internal Product and R&D teams, surfacing enhancement opportunities and product gaps
  • Close collaboration with the Product Team on detailed solutioning workshops to ensure accurate solution design and end to end process flow
  • Work with the Sales Team during the pre-sales process as a trusted advisor, to accurately collect requirements, define scope/boundaries, solution and provide project delivery estimates
