About The Position

GFT is seeking a FULL TIME Traffic Dispatcher Analyst (I) for the Regional Traffic Management (TMC) Center in the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Main office located in Albany, NY. This position requires onsite regular attendance at the Albany, NY office. As a Transportation Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting Transportation Safety and Mobility with the New York State Department of Transportation’s Office of Transportation Safety and Mobility. We are looking for candidates who are detail oriented, with excellent grammar skills, and able to convert meeting notes into action items. Successful candidates will need to be able to speak in front of small groups, have experience with root cause analysis, have solid critical thinking skills, and are organized. Familiarity with Microsoft suite products, including Microsoft Project are key skills. Familiarity with cybersecurity and traffic safety technologies are also important for the role. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Take meeting notes and track action items, Maintain Microsoft Project schedules, Facilitate small working groups, Write reports, Perform basic Microsoft Excel spreadsheet creation and management, Schedule in-person and online meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Urban Planning or related fields (Public Administration, Geography, Data Science/Analytics, etc)
  • Must have an aptitude for providing exceptional customer service, interpersonal relationships, and ability to work well within a diverse group.
  • Capacity to clearly communicate written and verbal information in English.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and work in small groups
  • Ability to coordinate real-time activities and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use computers in “Windows Office Suite” and other web applications and completing clear and detailed written reports using effortless keyboarding skills.
  • Adherence to company code of conduct and policies & procedures.
